Mixes virgin asphalt with ground tire rubber (GTR). Can mix 35 tons an hour using up to 20 percent GTR. The system is portable and consists of a mixing unit and one or more reaction tanks, all equipped with wheels and suspension for highway travel. The mixing unit (shown right) mixes GTR with liquid asphalt. The reaction tank (shown below) holds and agitates the mixture until it is properly cured for use in making hot mix asphalt (HMA).
